This year’s World Environment Day is focussed on ecosystem restoration and its theme is “Reimagine. Recreate. Restore.” We are all aware that for decades our planet’s ecosystems have been exploited and destroyed and the effects can be seen today. We cannot turn back time but we can try to restore the ecosystem by preventing, stopping and reserving the damage.
At Prodesign, we have always been advocates for Green Buildings and sustainable pratices within the MEP Engineering field as well as the construction sector as a whole. We propose Green Building Consultancy services and encourage local stakeholders towards creating a greener and more sustainable built environment. We are fully committed to assisting local property developers and owners to obtain green building certifications such as LEED which ensures that the building is not harmful to the environment and the surrounding ecosystem. For example, LEED intents include conservation of existing natural areas and restoration of of damaged areas to provide habitat and promote biodiversity. There also put emphasis on planting new trees and vegetation which promoted the recreation and restoration process. Green buildings can help preserve the larger ecosystem by reducing the impact of the built environment.
