Building Information Modelling (BIM)

BIM (Building Information Modelling) has revolutionised the construction industry and we want to tap into the benefits of BIM:

  • Better communication and collaboration
  • Faster drafting without loss of quality
  • Optimisation of schedule and cost
  • Improved coordination and clash detection
  • Stronger Facility Management and building handover
  • High level of customisation and flexibility

Our BIM capacities from LOD 200 – LOD 400 and BIM 2D to BIM 7D

We have capabilities in producing basic massing concept or models up to full data rich, detailed model which can be passed on to facilities management teams. These models are developed in line with the industry standards for Level of Detailing (LOD) and ISO 19650.

Dimensions of BIM

Our expertise in modelling spans across all the 7 dimensions of BIM. We can produce models to assist quantity surveyors in taking off quantities accurately to prepare bills (BIM 5D), assist main contractors in planning their site activities and procurement (BIM 4D), update BIM model during construction to hand over our clients as built BIM models for easier facilities management.

We have developed our own BIM viewer to help facilities managers better operate and maintain their facilities from a BIM model.

Cloud Collaboration with teams across various locations locally and internationally with BIM 360

We, at Prodesign, have closely aligned our BIM services to the new international BIM standard: ISO 19650 and have implemented BIM 360 Docs/Design as the Common Data Environment on all BIM projects. This enables us to:

  • Securely co-author Revit models in real time.
  • Allow all stakeholders to review design development from any device thus allowing more efficient collaboration locally or internationally
  • Reduce rework with trackable activity
  • Visualise design changes to help streamline decision-making and lines of approval

We can act as BIM Managers / Coordinators and guide the whole team, including those who have not yet adopted BIM to work in a collaborative and efficient manner by leveraging the advantages of BIM and help the client saves in cost and time.

BIM and VR Integration

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is not new and has certainly brought many advantages since its adoption in the firm back in 2008. In the construction industry, the processes and technologies that support BIM are constantly evolving, making BIM more attractive and opening new channels through which BIM advantages can be best obtained. While 3D BIM Models provide an edge over traditional 2D drawings for conveying design intentions, virtual reality (VR) technology leads to a better communication for key stakeholders, based on greater design visualizations and contributing to a better understanding of the project.
