Dr Jeetoo Hospital
Hospitals & Laboratories
Major upgrading work has been undertaken at the Port Louis Hospital, where the original building, designed for a school, dates back to 1892. It was converted to house hospital functions in 1899.

The project was in three phases, with Prodesign involved in all of them, started in 2005. The 550-bed hospital has been upgraded with state-of-the-art M&E systems, with a strong emphasis on renewable energy technologies and green material specifications. Prodesign services included power, HVAC, drainage and plumbing, medical gas, CCTV, telemedicine, lighting, security, nurse call systems, operating-theatre ventilation and air conditioning. The renovation contract fell under stage III of the Hospital Master Plan and included the rehabilitation of existing buildings (Doctors’ Mess, the Post-natal Ward and the H-Block Building), demolition of obsolete buildings and completion of site infrastructure to link up with Stage II of the Master Plan.
