Mother Earth Day has particular relevance for Prodesign as, since its inception, the firm has believed that more needs to be done to preserve the environment and limit energy use in particular. It has taken many innovative steps and led the way in Mauritius in promoting green engineering solutions.
Indeed, green MEP consultancy practices are at the heart of the suggestions Prodesign makes to its clients, as they have the advantage not only of providing environmental sustainability but, in most cases, of being far more cost-efficient over time. Meanwhile, Prodesign has set up the Zero Carbon Building Initiative, a voluntary initiative with the aim of designing and eventually constructing a net zero-carbon-emitting building in Mauritius. It will be a prototype used to demonstrate green principles in construction and to encourage the adoption of sustainable practices. This is a project for the Mauritian community and accessible to all. In addition, it will have strong educational value for the whole of Mauritius construction sector.
Prodesign also encourages clients to seek external recognition for the quality of the green initiatives used in building projects and is the first MEP consultancy firm in Mauritius to design LEED certified projects and is proud to have won the first LEED Gold Certificate in Mauritius in 2016 for the Airport of Mauritius headquarters.
